If you are currently renting one of our properties, you may have the right to buy your home under one of these schemes.
If you were a tenant of Cherwell District Council, and your home was transferred to us on 29 March 2004 whilst you were a tenant, you have a 'Preserved' Right to Buy.
The 'Preserved' Right to Buy means that if you decide to buy your home, you will be given a discount depending on the number of years you have been a tenant.

Right to Acquire
This scheme allows current tenants to buy the home they currently rent at a discounted price. The discounts are fixed by the Government and depend on where you live, and whether you have received any discount to buy your home in the past. The discounts are not so generous as those under the 'Preserved' Right to Buy scheme.
